Antiparos in the early 16th century
Approximately one mile from the salt-works [of Paros] lies the islet of Antiparos. The waters between the two islands are a good anchorage. Antiparos is suitable for the çektiri (ships that moved both with oars and sails, contary to those that used only sails]. There, just opposite Paros, there is a small and well-preserved castle".
